North Park University

North Park University was established in 1891, when Foster Avenue was little more than a sandy footpath. The original schoolhouse, Old Main, a three-story brick Georgian revival building with a distinctive cupola, is now the campus centerpiece. Stroll onto the grounds south of Foster Avenue and you'll find quiet paths along the North Branch of the Chicago River and foot bridges over the water connecting different parts of the campus. In keeping with its roots in the Swedish Evangelical Covenant Church, North Park is the only Chicago-area university to offer a major in Swedish.

Students have the opportunity to take a wide range of courses in each discipline from introductory level to advanced placement for college credit. Over the past several years, universities like Harvard, University of Chicago and Northwestern University, along with an extensive list of others, have enrolled Von Steuben graduates.
