about me
I'm a freelance writer specializing in arts & entertainment and busines. I regularly cover music for the Chicago Tribune's RedEye. I've also done work for Paste:Local Chicago; Centerstage Chicago; business publications from Bowen, Guerrero + Howe; and Network World. Previously, I've been a reporter for The Courier News in Elgin, IL, and the Montrose Daily Press in Montrose, CO.
When not freelancing, I work as a Senior Editor at The ABIS Group, a business intelligence firm based in Evanston, IL. There, I write and edit news briefs covering topics such as finance, consumer products, health care and international law. I also manage the company's training and development program, and I build and maintain reference Web sites for clients.
I grew up in Elgin, IL, and received my bachelor's of science in journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Check out my
blog, where I tackle my favorite topics - usually music and the media - or follow me on
Twitter.
