RULES OF PLAY

The CGHSL plays two twenty minute halfs to make up a game. Half time is 2 minutes and the teams recieve 5 min of warm up time before their games. Play commences from the center of the field with the home team starting with the ball. As in outdoor socer the ball must be passed as the first touch, however unlike outdoor soccer the ball may be passed in any direction. Five players and one goal keeper are allowed on the field at all times unless a player has been carded and a team has to play a man down. Substitutions are "on the fly" meaning the game will not be stopped to substitute players.

There is one referee during play as there is no offsides rule in indoor soccer. Fouls are called for raised arms, attacking from behind and for playing the man just as in outdoor soccer. Any blatant foul will warrant a card wich will be a two minute peanalty for the team where they will play a man down. Play resumes from a foul at the point the foul occured on the field.

A ball is considered out of bounds when it hits the net either above or on the sides of the field, or if the ball is sent into the team bench area. Play resumes from an out of bounds call either at thepoint the ball was out of bounds or the nearest white line marking in the direction of play. If the ball is called out of bounds from hitting the net behind the goal from the offensive team a defensive goal kick will granted with the defensive team taking a kick from the small white lined square in front of the goal. If the ball is called out of bounds from hitting the net behind the goal from the defensive team an offensive corner kick will be granted with the offensive team taking a kick from the marked corner dot closest to the out of bounds call.

Goal keepers cannot punt the ball, the ball must hit the ground before contact with the keeper.
